Global Spirituality Mahotsav is attended by 500 spiritual luminaries

During the spirituality summit that took place from March 14–17, 500 of the world's most eminent leaders of spiritual organizations representing many faiths and schools of thought were there.

At Kanha Shanti Vanam, which is close to Hyderabad, the Ministry of Culture recently organized a four-day Global Spirituality Mahotsav in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Heartfulness.

During the spirituality summit that took place from March 14–17, 500 of the world's most eminent leaders of spiritual organizations representing many faiths and schools of thought were there. Nearly a million people attended the spiritual gathering, which had as its subject "Inner Peace to World Peace." Its goals included encouraging interfaith conversations and assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds in making a daily connection with spirituality.

In her speech, President Droupadi Murmu, who inaugurated the meet, said the Global Spirituality Mahotsav will take humanity towards spirituality. “Today, great spiritual leaders and lakhs of people have joined together to bring harmony, irrespective of different belief systems. I congratulate Rev Daaji (Guide of Heartfulness & President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission) for taking the Heartfulness movement to 160 countries across the world. This is a very sacred cause.

“I am very pleased that The Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness have brought this Global Spiritual Mahotsav themed Inner peace to world peace.”

Attendees at the summit included actor Kabir Bedi, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, Pir Zia Inayat Khan of the Inayati Order, Dr. Jayanti S. Ravi of the Auroville Foundation, Ven Geshe Dorji of the Tibet House, Mark Milton of Education 4Peace, actor Harjinder Singh Dhami of SGPC, Rev. Anthony Poola, Archbishop of Hyderabad, and actor Chinna Jeeyar Swami, the Vaisnavism Guru of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
