A Muharram Tazia procession in Pipra Bijwar, Araria district, turned tragic as 24 participants were severely burnt by an electric current. The incident occurred when the Tazia came into contact with a high voltage 33,000 kV wire, causing widespread panic and injuries.

The procession was making its way through a field when the accident happened. Despite precautions, including a power cut by the district administration, the Tazia inadvertently touched the high voltage wire. The injured were rushed to the Palasi Community Health Center, with six critically injured individuals transferred to the Araria Sadar Hospital.
