There doesn't seem to be a clear trend favoring any one party in Bihar, nor is there a single touchy subject that voters find particularly compelling.
Elections for the state's forty seats will take place in seven phases in Bihar, which held elections for four Lok Sabha seats on Friday. There doesn't seem to be a clear front-runner or one particularly compelling subject that has drawn support from voters.
The number game's state key will determine who goes back to the Center. The voter's nuanced response is evident across vast areas, however, as one moves from the districts in the south near the Jharkhand border to those in the north near Nepal.
Politics are heated by Nitish Kumar's remarks on Lalu Yadav's family
In a jab at Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), over dynastic politics, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Saturday that Yadav has been elevating members of his family and involving his sons and daughters. The JD (U) leader added, during a speech at a rally in Katihar, that Lalu Prasad had nominated his wife as the chief minister of Bihar after he was forced to resign from the position.
There's a dying Congress: Nitish Kumar
Asserting that the Congress has been involved in dynasty politics since Independence, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Sunday that the party was "becoming extinct" throughout the nation. The president of JD(U) further attacked Lalu Prasad's RJD, a former ally, saying that he was too busy pushing his kids into politics.
"No one from my family works in politics. Everybody benefits from our labor. Following independence, the Congress was managed by family members, as all of them are party leaders. Congress is going extinct because of this.
Kumar claimed that Tejashwi Yadav, the son of Prasad and a former deputy chief minister, takes credit for the good job he has done.
"I did all the work... I took all the decisions and now he takes credit. People know what they (RJD) did during their regime. We have done a lot for the overall development of people, including the minority communities,"
stated the chief minister.
On April 26, Kishanganj, along with the Lok Sabha constituencies of Katihar, Purnea, Bhagalpur, and Banka, will go to the elections in the second phase.
