The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Jharkhand, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), and Janata Dal (United) (JDU), are nearing an agreement on seat-sharing for the upcoming state assembly elections. A final meeting is expected to resolve the remaining disputes over a few seats.
Preparations for the elections, set for later this year, are in full swing, with two major coalitions – the NDA and the INDIA alliance – vying for dominance. BJP's Jharkhand election in-charge, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently confirmed that BJP will contest in alliance with AJSU and JD(U).
Sanjay Ranjan, AJSU's central secretary, mentioned that most seat-sharing decisions have been made, with only one or two constituencies still under discussion. A final announcement is expected around the time of Vijayadashami, with key leaders from all parties set to finalize the details in the coming days.
With the NDA alliance close to finalizing its seat-sharing strategy, the coalition is gearing up for a competitive battle in the Jharkhand assembly elections, with an official declaration expected soon.
