Progress on Patna Metro Rail Project: Second Phase Advancements

The Patna Metro Rail Project is making significant strides, particularly on Corridor-2, which spans from Patna Junction to New ISBT via Ashok Rajpath and Rajendra Nagar. This corridor includes a mix of elevated and underground stations, with recent developments marking substantial progress in the project's second phase.

Metro officials have reported that the underground excavation work for the double tunnel from Moinul Haq Stadium to Patna University has been completed. Additionally, work is ongoing for the tunnels from Patna University to Gandhi Maidan and from Gandhi Maidan to Patna Junction, utilizing two tunnel boring machines (TBMs). To date, 45 percent of the tunnel excavation work on this corridor has been completed.

The project commenced in March 2022, and the first TBM was deployed in April 2023. By May 2024, the TBM had successfully constructed a 1.5 km double tunnel segment, marking a significant milestone in the project's timeline.

The Patna Metro Rail Project's steady progress on Corridor-2 reflects the commitment to enhancing urban transportation infrastructure. Once completed, this project will greatly improve connectivity and reduce congestion in the city, providing a modern and efficient transit solution for Patna's residents.
