Patna Metro: A Beacon of Hope for Nitish Kumar Amid Political Challenges

Patna Metro, a flagship project of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is progressing swiftly with the aim of a trial run before the next assembly elections. The ambitious project involves two main corridors: Danapur to Khemnichak and Patna station to New ISBT. Additionally, plans are underway to link Patna Airport and Takht Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara, with a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to be prepared soon.

The target is to commence metro operations by July next year, with initial services running between Malachi Pakadi and New ISBT. Following a recent inspection by CM Nitish Kumar, metro officials have been urged to expedite the work. The laying of ballistic tracks in the New ISBT depot is set to begin in August, with 75% of civil work on the Priority Corridor already completed.

The trial run of the Patna Metro is expected to precede the assembly elections, allowing Nitish Kumar to present it as a key development achievement. In contrast, the opposition lacks comparable projects from the past decade and a half under Lalu Yadav's tenure.

The Patna Metro project represents a significant development milestone for Bihar, with the potential to influence the political landscape ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Its timely completion is critical for Nitish Kumar's campaign, showcasing tangible progress and governance.
