Leaders of the BJP and its coalition partners welcomed President Droupadi Murmu on appointing NDA Parliamentary Party leader Narendra Modi as prime minister-designate, stating that under his leadership, the nation will achieve "new heights" of progress during the next five years. After being invited by Murmu to form the government, Modi will take the oath of office as prime minister on Sunday for a third term in a row.
On Friday, Murmu named Modi as the next prime minister-designate following the submission of letters of support by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders and BJP chairman JP Nadda about Modi's election as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party.
MP Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) declared that his party will stay in the NDA and fully support Modi's coalition administration in advancing national development, achieving regional goals, and creating public welfare initiatives.
"We conveyed the same during the NDA meeting also that we will stay with the NDA and there will be no confusion on it in the next five years as the people of Andhra Pradesh have given their mandate to the NDA. The people have given responsibility to us. We will fulfil the duty that people have assigned to us with their mandate and play a significant role," Naidu told PTI.
“The TDP leader responded, "We have not made any specific demand," when asked if his party had made a demand for the Lok Sabha speaker's seat in exchange for joining the NDA. But we do want the NDA to be treated with respect."”
According to him, Andhra Pradesh was wrecked by the Jagan Mohan Reddy administration during its tenure, and the TDP wants the NDA government at the federal level to do everything within its power to support the development of the state and its citizens.
Anurag Thakur, a BJP member who was reelected from the Lok Sabha seat in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, congratulated Modi on his election as the leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party and stated that under his direction, the nation will achieve unprecedented levels of development.
"The people of the country want a stable government. The people of the country want to see a powerful and honest leader at the helm," he told PTI.
Dharmendra Pradhan, a prominent BJP leader who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Sambalpur in Odisha, stated that the NDA administration will do "much better" this time.
"We will work much harder in national interest," he told PTI.
Chief of the LJP (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, congratulated Modi and stated that the nation is waiting for him to take office and keep his word.
"The entire country has given a mandate to Prime Minister Modi and, honoring this mandate, all NDA constituents have endorsed his leadership to fulfil his resolve of making India a developed country," he told PTI.
The leader of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Jayant Singh, stated that the nation will advance along the path of growth with the same fervor and intensity that Modi has labored for the past ten years.
