Patna, Bihar - The recent defeat in the Rupauli assembly by-election has heightened tensions within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Independent candidate Shankar Singh emerged victorious, defeating JDU's Kaladhar Mandal by a significant margin of 8,246 votes. The results have prompted Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to call for a comprehensive review of the party's strategies.
Chaudhary expressed disappointment over the defeat and emphasized the need to reassess the approach, particularly in light of the NDA's extensive campaign efforts in Rupauli. Despite the concerted efforts of prominent NDA leaders, including Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan, the electorate favored Shankar Singh, rejecting both the caste and development models proposed by the RJD and Nitish Kumar respectively.
The Deputy CM also addressed those criticizing the NDA, particularly on the issue of 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas,' underscoring the hypocrisy of leaders who fought against the Emergency now aligning with the Congress.
The defeat in the Rupauli assembly highlights the need for the NDA to re-evaluate its strategies and address the concerns of the electorate. The by-election results serve as a wake-up call for the coalition, emphasizing the importance of grassroots engagement and effective campaigning.
