In the last ten years, PM Modi, according to the former president of the Congress, has embezzled money from the underprivileged.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday during an electoral rally in Vijayapura, Karnataka, claiming the latter has grown anxious about the BJP's chances in the current Lok Sabha elections. He said that the Congress will turn millions of people into lakhpatis, while the BJP administration made a small number of individuals billionaires.
“You hear Modi’s speech. He is nervous. In a few days, he will likely tear up,” he said, accusing the prime minister of stealing the public's focus away from "real" problems like unemployment, inflation, and poverty. Rahul Gandhi informed the assembly that only the Congress could deal with these problems.
According to the previous president of the Congress, PM Modi “has looted money from the poor in the last 10 years.”
“Twenty-two people have as much wealth as 70 crore people. One percent of people control 40 percent of the wealth of the country. The money that Modi gave to billionaires; we will give to the poor,” the Congress leader remarked.
Rahul Gandhi also claimed that a group and an individual were attempting to "end" the Indian constitution and democracy, making references to Prime Minister Modi and the BJP. “BJP MPs have said that if they win elections, they will change the Constitution. On the other hand, the Congress party and the INDIA bloc are trying to protect the Constitution and the ideals of (social reformer) Basavanna,” he said.
Modi has contributed to the creation of 20–25 billionaires in the nation within the past ten years. Rahul Gandhi said that contracts for ports, airports, defense projects, and solar projects were given to individuals like Gautam Adani.
“With the implementation of Nyay schemes, our government is going to make crores of people as lakhpatis,” he said.
Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi remarked at a different rally in Ballari that the country's unemployment rate has increased during the Modi administration, comparable to the spread of COVID-19.
“In the way he asked people to clap during Covid-19, he is asking the youth to make pakoras (fritters) now, " the Congress leader said.
“Under Modi, loans to the tune of Rs 16 lakh crore were waived off. This is equal to MNREGA wages for 25 years,” he added.
Karnataka's fourteen Lok Sabha seats cast ballots in the second round on Friday. On May 7, elections will be held for the remaining 14 seats.
