JDU Forms State Executive Committee Ahead of Bihar Elections

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party, Janata Dal-United (JDU), has constituted its State Executive Committee in a major political development ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. A total of 118 leaders, including Nitish Kumar, have been included in this newly formed body. Prominent figures such as Vijay Chaudhary, Bijendra Yadav, and Umesh Kushwaha are also among the appointees. In addition to these key leaders, all members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha have been designated as special invitees.

Earlier, the party had dissolved all its cells, making way for a restructured leadership. Saturday's announcement of the State Executive Committee reflects JDU's renewed focus and preparation for the elections. Apart from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, other prominent members of the committee include JDU's working president Sanjay Kumar Jha, Munger MP and Union Minister Lalan Singh, and several former MPs and ministers, including Santosh Kumar Kushwaha and Ashfaq Karim.

This follows the dissolution of the previous state committee on August 24. Within an hour, a new committee was announced with 115 members, significantly reducing the number from the earlier 550. The new committee includes 10 vice presidents, 49 general secretaries, 46 secretaries, and 9 spokespersons.

The formation of this new committee highlights JDU's readiness to mobilize ahead of the Bihar assembly elections. With a streamlined leadership structure, the party appears focused on addressing both organizational and electoral challenges.
