Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is set to create history by taking the Chief Ministerial oath for the fourth time today, November 28, at 4 PM. With this, he will become the first leader in the state's 24-year history to achieve this milestone. Previously, his father Shibu Soren and BJP's Arjun Munda served as Chief Ministers three times each.

Hemant Soren first assumed office on July 13, 2013, through an alliance of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). His second tenure began on December 29, 2019. Despite stepping down after an ED arrest on January 31, 2024, he returned to power on July 4, 2024, marking his third term. Notably, he is also the first Jharkhand CM to secure a consecutive re-election.

Soren's coalition won a resounding majority in the 81-member assembly, securing 56 seats. His fourth tenure promises to solidify his legacy, as he is poised to surpass Arjun Munda's record of 2,210 days as CM within 40 days. Additionally, his wife, Kalpana Soren, will make history by voting in favor of the government as an MLA during a trust motion.

Hemant Soren's unparalleled political journey underscores his significant influence in Jharkhand's political landscape. As he takes his fourth oath, he stands as a symbol of resilience and leadership, ready to set new benchmarks in the state's governance.
