Union Minister Giriraj Singh has voiced strong support for implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Jharkhand, echoing recent remarks made by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Singh asserted that NRC is necessary to protect the tribal identity of the state, criticizing the governance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren for allowing the population of indigenous tribes to fall from over 44% to under 28%.
Singh accused the Soren government of giving a free pass to illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants, who he claimed have undermined the state's tribal culture and demographic balance. He further called for the implementation of NRC not just in Jharkhand, but also in Bengal, Assam, and other regions facing similar issues.
The Union Minister also took aim at political leaders like Owaisi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mamata Banerjee, accusing them of attempting to divide the nation with anti-national rhetoric. He emphasized the need for unity among Sanatanis to counter these threats.
Giriraj Singh’s call for NRC in Jharkhand highlights concerns over demographic shifts and national security, positioning it as a major issue in the upcoming political discourse in the state.
