During a spiritual event in Samastipur, Bihar, renowned storyteller Aniruddhacharya made a significant demand, urging Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to declare the cow as the 'State Mother.' He further suggested that if this demand is fulfilled, Nitish Kumar would remain the state's Chief Minister for life.
Aniruddhacharya’s program, which is scheduled from October 5 to October 11, witnessed the participation of Bihar's Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Vijay Kumar. The spiritual leader extended a formal invitation to Chief Minister Kumar and raised his appeal regarding the cow's status during the event.
Aniruddhacharya also touched upon the issue of recurring floods in Bihar, suggesting that linking larger rivers with smaller ones could potentially prevent annual devastation. Minister Vijay Kumar acknowledged the suggestion, noting that the state government has been working on similar initiatives for over 15 years.
The call to grant the cow special recognition as ‘State Mother’ is a reflection of cultural sentiments, while the government's ongoing efforts to combat flooding continue to be a top priority in Bihar.
