Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the special economic package allocated to Bihar in the Budget 2024. This package is aimed at fostering progress and prosperity for farmers, women, youth, and the poor in the state.
Reacting to the budget, Rai highlighted the continuous efforts of the Prime Minister towards Bihar's development, noting that the special package includes comprehensive measures for infrastructure, tourism, and employment. The package features the construction of three expressways and a two-lane bridge over the Ganges in Buxar, with a total investment of Rs 26,000 crore.
Rai also lauded the development of the Mahabodhi Corridor and the revival of Nalanda University, underscoring the central government's commitment to promoting tourism and restoring historical sites. Additionally, the budget includes provisions for skill development, education, and agricultural support, with a focus on generating employment for the youth.
The budget allocates Rs 1.52 lakh crore for agriculture and related sectors, aiming to enhance the livelihood of farmers and ensure sustainable development. Five schemes targeting youth development with a provision of Rs 2 lakh crore are expected to benefit over 5 crore young individuals.
