JD(U)’s newly appointed National General Secretary, Ashok Choudhary, addressed the media for the first time since his promotion. Choudhary expressed optimism about ongoing talks with the BJP regarding a coalition for the upcoming Jharkhand elections. "We are in a positive phase of discussions, and I am confident the NDA will perform well," he said after a meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Choudhary also reflected on his journey within the JD(U), recounting his elevation from acting president to his current role. He attributed his rise to the faith Nitish Kumar has in him, adding that the party’s decisions are not influenced by external conspiracies.
Commenting on the broader political scenario, Choudhary criticized the opposition's lack of focus and direction, particularly the INDIA alliance. He predicted a significant defeat for the Mahagathbandhan in the 2025 Bihar elections, worse than their performance in 2010.
Ashok Choudhary's remarks hint at a promising BJP-JD(U) alliance for the Jharkhand elections. With confidence in the leadership of Nitish Kumar, Choudhary is committed to delivering on the party’s expectations.
