BJP-AJSU Alliance for Jharkhand Assembly Elections Nears Finalization

With Jharkhand's assembly elections approaching, the BJP and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) have almost finalized their seat-sharing agreement. The announcement is expected during Navratri. AJSU has reportedly demanded 12-14 seats, while BJP has offered 9-10 seats. Talks are ongoing over contentious constituencies such as Tundi, Chandankiyari, and Jugsalai.

AJSU party president Sudesh Mahto confirmed the positive developments following his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This comes after the 2019 elections, where a breakdown in seat-sharing talks led to both parties contesting separately, resulting in a loss of power for the NDA. This time, both parties are keen to avoid similar outcomes and present a united front.

As the BJP and AJSU inch closer to an agreement, their alliance could significantly impact the Jharkhand assembly elections, offering a stronger challenge to the ruling coalition and bolstering NDA's position in the state.
