Bihar Hosts First Women's Asian Hockey Championship Trophy

For the first time in its history, Bihar will host the prestigious Women’s Asian Hockey Championship Trophy, set to take place in Rajgir from November 11 to 20. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the event, which marks a significant milestone in Bihar's sports development. To build anticipation, CM Kumar will flag off the 'Hockey Gaurav Yatra,' a promotional journey to highlight Bihar's achievements in the sports world.

The journey, starting on October 14, will pass through Punjab, Haryana, Odisha, Jharkhand, and all 38 districts of Bihar before culminating in Rajgir. During this time, local officials, athletes, and sports organizations will come together to celebrate the state's growing sports culture. The journey aims to raise awareness about the upcoming hockey tournament and Bihar’s contributions to the national sporting landscape.

The international competition will feature six countries, including India, China, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, and Malaysia. Matches will be played at an upgraded hockey stadium in Rajgir, where the turf is being replaced to meet international standards. The event has been branded with the slogan "Hockey ka Parv, Bihar ka Garv" (The Festival of Hockey, Bihar's Pride).

Bihar’s hosting of the Women’s Asian Hockey Championship Trophy signals the state's rising prominence in the world of sports. Through the 'Hockey Gaurav Yatra,' the government hopes to inspire local athletes and strengthen Bihar’s sporting infrastructure.
