Bihar Assembly: CPI(ML) Protests Against Wakf Bill

Arvind Kejriwal's bail is requested by a law student, but he rejects

The Winter Session of the Bihar Assembly began with dramatic protests as CPI(ML) Liberation legislators rallied against the Wakf Amendment Bill, calling for its withdrawal. Led by leader Mahboob Alam, the party accused the central government of targeting minority rights and public properties associated with the Muslim community, such as madrasas and cemeteries.

The protestors urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to leverage his influence to halt the bill, which they view as a divisive tool by the BJP-led central government. Alam announced plans to introduce a suspension motion in the Assembly and criticized recent comments by JDU leaders about minority voting patterns.

The Wakf Bill has deepened fault lines in Bihar’s politics, reflecting broader national tensions. Its fate hinges on balancing governance with inclusive policymaking amid growing opposition from various quarters.
