Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, who is now on bail to campaign in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, responded angrily to a Pakistani leader today on social media when the latter reposted his message on the platform 'X'.
Along with his father, spouse, and kids, Arvind Kejriwal cast his ballot in the nation's capital today. After casting a vote, he further posted a picture on X, which was once known as Twitter.
"My father, wife and both my children voted. My mother could not come today as she is very ill. I have voted against inflation, and unemployment," Mr Kejriwal posted.
Leader of Pakistan Fawad Hussain Chaudhry stated, referring from Mr. Kejriwal's post: "May peace and harmony defeat forces of hate and extremism."
In response, the Chief Minister of Delhi stated that Fawad Hussain should focus on improving his nation's poverty conditions rather than interfering in domestic affairs of India.
“We are fully capable of handling our issues. The situation of Pakistan is very poor now, so you should take care of your country, he said.”
"Elections are our internal matter. India will not tolerate interference by the biggest sponsors of terrorism," he said in another post.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju made a jab when he said that Arvind Kejriwal had "massive support" from Pakistan.
"I've told you, not only Rahul Gandhi but Arvind Kejriwal has got massive support in Pakistan," Mr Rijiju posted.
Eight seats each in Bihar and Bengal, seven in Delhi, ten in Haryana, four in Jharkhand, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and the last seat in Jammu & Kashmir—Anantnag-Rajouri—where voting was shifted from the third to the sixth phase—are all up for election today.
After the last round of voting concludes on June 1, the votes will be counted on June 4.
