Under the 'Udaan 5.2' scheme, air services are set to commence in 10 small cities of Bihar, significantly improving connectivity and convenience for travelers. The initiative will initially use small aircraft with less than 20 seats, enhancing accessibility in the region.

The cities to benefit from this scheme include Veerpur, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Valmikinagar, Motihari, Raxaul, Madhubani, and Chapra. The development of airports in these locations is already underway, with air services expected to begin soon.

Civil Aviation Minister KR Naidu, responding to a query in the Rajya Sabha, confirmed that bids have been received for these air services. The minister also mentioned the inclusion of additional cities such as Ara, Begusarai, Bettiah, and others under the Udan scheme, which aims to enhance regional connectivity.

The central government has urged the Bihar government to facilitate the availability of land for the development and expansion of these airports. Cooperation has also been sought for ensuring security, fire services, weather-related services, and airport management.

In conclusion, the 'Udaan 5.2' scheme is a strategic initiative to connect Bihar's small cities with the rest of the country, fostering regional development and easing travel for residents. This move is expected to boost business activities and contribute to the overall growth of the state.
