Three people are detained after JDU Leader Mahesh Mishra was shot dead in Gaya, Bihar.

According to police, armed attackers shot and killed a JD(U) leader Wednesday evening close to his home in Churihara village, in the Gaya district of Bihar.
Mahesh Mishra, who passed away, was the deputy "mukhiya" of the Chiraila panchayat under the Belaganj Police Station and the block secretary of JD(U).
According to Ravi Prakash Singh, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Misra was shot close to his residence. After being sent to a government hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Three people have been taken into custody in response to statements made by Mishra's relatives.

According to a preliminary investigation, the murder may have been caused by a property dispute, the DSP continued. An inquiry is in progress.
