Rahul Gandhi asserts OBC craftsmen struggle in the textile industry due to a continuous cycle of neglect.

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, said on Saturday that he was working to end this "vicious circle of neglect and injustice" and that many talented craftspeople from lower socioeconomic groups do not succeed in the textile industry. In an attempt to establish himself in the fashion design industry, he posted a video of his visit to a textile artisan's workshop on X.

Gandhi tried his hand at the profession and interacted with the artisans in the workshop during the visit.

"I have never met an OBC at the top of the textile design industry," he wrote in a Hindi post. Vicky, a young person who has created his business in this industry on his skills, told this story.

"The craftspeople in his factory put in twelve hours a day, creating magic with thread and needle. However, nothing has changed; the expertise is not valued," Gandhi wrote in his post.

He claimed that, similar to other industries, the Bahujans are underrepresented in the textile and apparel industry and lack access to education and networking opportunities.

"In order for the world to recognize the true brilliance of Indian youth, I try to learn from the work of talented people like Vicky. These young people are intelligent and diligent, but they are caught in a vicious cycle of injustice and neglect, exactly like Abhimanyu in the Mahabharata.

"My fight is to break this vicious circle so that every skilled person can find a way to enter the system," Gandhi wrote in the article.
