A Pakistani naval ship and an Indian Navy vessel clashed in international waters, prompting New Delhi to call Islamabad's top envoy. The MEA claimed in a sharply worded statement that the incident was caused by the "unacceptable and unprofessional conduct" by Pakistani military personnel. The Indian Navy cruiser, however, was unharmed.
Following Operation Sindoor last year, tensions between India and Pakistan are still at an all-time high. Sources told India Today that the incident happened on the evening of September 15 in international seas.
In the North Arabian Sea, the Indian warship was conducting a regular surveillance mission when it was struck by a fast-moving Pakistani military craft. However, according to sources, no damage has been detected.
India said in its statement that the Pakistani ship's actions were in "direct contravention" of Article 10 of the 1991 agreement between the two nations regarding advance notice of army deployments, military drills, and maneuvers.
"The Pakistani diplomat was asked to convey to the relevant authorities the need for all military units to exercise due care and comply with bilateral agreements to prevent a recurrence of such incidents," the MEA statement stated.
