Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta says she aspires to be more like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, whom she called "a daring personality" and her second role model, even though she views Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a holy individual. The chief minister stated in an exclusive interview with PTI on Wednesday night that Shah is capable of making difficult choices and seeing them through to completion, regardless of the obstacles that stand in his way.
The Aam Aadmi Party's 10-year dominance came to an end when Gupta, a first-time MLA, won the February 5 assembly elections and created the first BJP-led administration in Delhi in 27 years.
She praised Modi, saying she thinks he's a saint.
"A few saints dedicate their lives to serving God. He views his service to the nation as a kind of worship. Numerous more members of our party have dedicated their lives to serving the nation in various capacities. Among them are Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari," she stated before going into further detail about her adoration for Shah.
She emphasized that Shah has consistently made important choices for the nation.
Gupta responded, "I would like to become like Amit Shah ji," when asked if she would like to follow in his footsteps. He is capable of making judgments and follows through on them.
According to Gupta, the BJP is full of skill and commitment.
Because of the way they were raised, they are now raising us, and we will continue to do so with the next generation. It's a hand-holding chain," Gupta continued.
The Congress drew blank for the second time in the Assembly polls, while the BJP won 48 seats and the AAP 22 in the 70-member House.
