Tirupati Prasadam Controversy: Shankaracharya Calls It an Attack on Hindu Faith

Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has voiced his strong discontent over allegations that animal fat was found in the sacred Prasadam (laddu) distributed at the Tirupati temple. Drawing a historical parallel, he recalled the 1857 uprising led by Mangal Pandey, who refused to bite cartridges greased with animal fat, sparking a revolution. "Now, the same thing is being forced into the mouths of millions of Hindus," he stated, emphasizing the seriousness of the issue.

The Shankaracharya condemned the incident as a deliberate assault on Hindu sentiments, calling it a “well-organized crime” and a betrayal of the Hindu community. He has demanded an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter, urging the government to take strong legal action against those responsible. Additionally, he criticized the increasing export of beef from India and called for legislation to ban cow slaughter nationwide.

The Tirupati Prasadam controversy has reignited tensions over Hindu sentiments. With religious leaders like the Shankaracharya taking a strong stance, the matter could escalate further if swift action is not taken.
