Prabhat Jha's mortal remains will be flown to Darbhanga airport by air ambulance at 11 am, where a large number of BJP workers and leaders from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh will gather to pay their respects. From the airport, his body will be taken to Koriahi in Sitamarhi district for the final rites.
Jha, who passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, had deep roots in Bihar but made his political mark in Madhya Pradesh. He served as the former president of the Madhya Pradesh BJP and was a Rajya Sabha member from the state. His contributions to the party and his leadership roles have left an indelible mark on Indian politics.
Darbhanga city MLA Sanjay Saraogi highlighted Jha's significance, stating, "Prabhat Jha ji was a resident of Koriahi in Sitamarhi but did politics in Madhya Pradesh. His contributions to the BJP and the nation will always be remembered." Many prominent leaders and workers from both states are expected to attend the last rites.
Jha's career began as a journalist in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, before joining the BJP. He rose through the ranks to become the party's Madhya Pradesh president in 2010 and served in the Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2020. In 2015, he was appointed as the National Vice President of the BJP, further solidifying his influence within the party.
